Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of the PsychMaven’s education platform hosted by Learner Outfitters (the “Platform”). Both PsychMaven and Learner Outfitters are DBAs of Narrative Resources, LLC, a Tennessee incorporated Limited Liability Company. By creating an account, enrolling in a course, or otherwise using the Platform, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Nature of Organization

PsychMaven is an education and resourcing initiative serving behavioral health professionals. PsychMaven is an approved continuing education (CE) provider under multiple professional credentialing organizations and state licensure boards. However, it is important to note that not all PsychMaven trainings come with the same level of continuing education approval. All synchronous and asynchronous trainings provided by PsychMaven will clearly denote the continuing education approval in the enrollment page of any of our programs.

2. Accounts and eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create an account. PsychMaven’s learning site and offerings are meant for masters and doctoral level students and professionals in social and behavioral health fields, though helping professionals and other interested parties are welcome to participate as appropriate.
  • You agree to provide accurate registration information (including the name and/or license details used on your CE certificates) and to keep it current.
  • You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials. Accounts are individual; sharing an account or purchasing a single enrollment for multiple learners is not permitted.

3. Purchases and payment

Program/Membership prices are stated at checkout. Payments are processed by our third-party payment processor (Stripe); we do not store full card numbers. Where installment plans or third-party financing options (Afterpay, Klarna, etc) are offered, your agreement with that provider governs the financing terms, and completing all installments remains a condition of continued course access and certificate issuance. Some enrollments are offered during limited enrollment windows and may not be available year-round. Maintaining membership dues will also affect ongoing access to related resources.

4. Refund and cancellation policy

  • Self-paced online courses: you may request a full refund within 14 days of purchase, provided you have not yet submitted a post-test for scoring in that course. Once a post-test has been submitted (regardless of pass/fail result) or a CE certificate has been issued, the course is non-refundable.
  • Live trainings and webinars: registrants who cancel at least 5 business days before the event receive a full refund. An attendee who is not satisfied with a live training may elect, on the day of the training, to receive a full refund in lieu of the CE certificate for that training.
  • Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method.
  • To request a refund, contact us at help@psychmaven.com with your name and the course or event title.

5. Course access

Enrollment grants you a personal, non-transferable right to access the enrolled course for as long as the course remains offered on the Platform. Downloadable course materials are provided so you can retain your own copies; we encourage you to download them during your enrollment. If we ever retire a course or the Platform, we will provide reasonable advance notice and a window to download your materials and certificates.

6. Continuing-education credit

  • If a program is being offered with continuing education (CE) credit, then the CE approval status (NBCC, APA, and any state-specific approvals) is stated on each course page. It remains the responsibility of each student to verify with their own state board or licensing body whether continuing-education clock hours earned through PsychMaven meet that board’s requirements. PsychMaven assumes no responsibility for any board’s acceptance of continuing-education hours.
  • CE certificates are issued only upon completion of the full program requirements, including passing the required post-test(s). No partial CE credit is awarded for partial completion or partial attendance.
  • By submitting a post-test, you affirm that you personally completed the course content in full. Falsifying completion is grounds for revocation of certificates and account termination.

7. Grievances

One of our top priorities is for all learners involved in our programs to have the best experiences that we are able to provide. 8. Accessibility and accommodations

At PsychMaven, we are dedicated to providing training that is consistent with the requirements of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and similar state, federal, and local laws.

For in-person and home-study programs, PsychMaven uses a multimedia format, incorporating both auditory and visual elements to ensure our content is engaging and accessible. Our courses are designed with many interactive elements. These strategies not only keep our audience engaged but also accommodate different learning styles and challenges.

For our online formatted courses, we strive for a high level of accessibility for participants to engage with our programs from the comfort of their homes or workplaces. This allows those with physical disabilities to participate without the added barriers often associated with physical locations.

When participants with disabilities, such as sensory, auditory or visual impairments, wish to request accommodations for live-stream webcasts or synchronous events, we ask them to submit these requests in writing via email. A PsychMaven program administrator will respond to these requests either in writing or over the phone. We commit to accommodating these requests wherever possible, within the scope of our resources.

PsychMaven takes reasonable steps to provide accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). These accommodations may include written transcripts of audio or video components of courses, large-type versions of printed materials, and audio versions of printed materials.

To submit a request for disability accommodations, participants are asked to contact our administration. All requests are evaluated by our Education Director, who makes the final determination on the accommodations to be provided.

While we strive for maximum accessibility across all our course offerings, we want to communicate to our participants that accommodations may take up to 90 days to provide. This timeline also applies to accommodation requests for live courses. At PsychMaven, we are committed to making our programming as inclusive and accessible as possible, ensuring that all participants, regardless of disability, have an equal opportunity to learn and grow.

9. Not clinical advice

Our programs and trainings are educational and are intended for the professional development of psychologists, counselors, social workers, and other helping professionals. Our programs and trainings do not constitute medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice, diagnosis, or treatment for any individual, and they do not replace clinical supervision, consultation, or legal and ethical standards for a professional regarding their own judgment and decisions.

10. Professional conduct

We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for hostile, disruptive, harassing, or threatening behavior in any form, including live trainings, webinars, and community or discussion features. Participants removed for conduct violations will not be given the opportunity to complete the program through other means; while any refund of the registration fee for that event is at our discretion.

11. Affiliate program

  • PsychMaven may offer an affiliate program under which approved affiliates earn commissions on qualifying referrals. PsychMaven reserves the right to select or de-select any affiliate at its discretion.
  • Affiliate commissions will only be related to the offering of professional education and/or other programs that clearly do not constitute therapeutic treatment.
  • Affiliates who are mental-health professionals must adhere to the codes of ethics of their relevant discipline(s), and all affiliates must disclose their affiliate relationship when promoting PsychMaven courses.
  • Commission rates, tracking, and payout schedules are stated in the affiliate program terms provided at enrollment in the program. Payouts may require completion of tax documentation (e.g., IRS Form W-9) before disbursement.

12. Intellectual property and license

All program content (i.e., video, audio, text, slides, workbooks, post-tests, and other materials) is to be considered under the copyright of the course instructor and/or any other noted copyright holder. Your enrollment grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the materials for your own professional education. You may not copy, redistribute, resell, publicly display, or create derivative works from course materials, or use them to create competing trainings. This access privilege terminates automatically if you violate these Terms.

13. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information is described in our Privacy Policy, which also explains how to request deletion of your data (see Data Deletion). Student records are kept confidential and are released as described in our Privacy Policy, including to CE approval bodies such as NBCC, APA, ASWB, or state licensing boards for reporting and compliance purposes, or as required by law.

14. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Platform and all materials are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the fullest extent permitted by law, Narrative Resources, LLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Platform, and our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid us for the course or event giving rise to the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions or liability limitations, so portions of this section may not apply to you.

15. Termination

You may close your account at any time (see Data Deletion). We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms. Termination does not affect refund rights that accrued before termination, and we will continue to honor legally required CE record-keeping obligations after an account is closed.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, without regard to its conflict-of-law provisions. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally shall be brought in the state or federal courts located in Knox County, Tennessee.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent revision, and material changes will be announced on the Platform or by email. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
