Data Deletion Instructions

You can ask PsychMaven to delete your account and the personal data we hold about you at any time. This page explains exactly how, and what happens next. It applies to all accounts, including accounts created by signing in with a third-party system such as Google or Facebook.

How to request deletion

  1. Send an email to help@psychmaven.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.”
  2. Send it from the email address associated with your PsychMaven account (or, if you signed in with Facebook or Google, the email address on that account). If you cannot use that address, say so, we will then verify your identity another way before deleting anything.
  3. We will confirm receipt promptly (normally within 5 business days) and complete your verified request within 30 days.
  4. When deletion is complete, we will send you a written confirmation listing what was deleted and what (if anything) was retained, and why.

What gets deleted

We delete your account profile (name, email, license details), sign-in identities (including the profile data we received from apps like Facebook or Google), lesson progress, marketing preferences and email-list membership, and support correspondence no longer needed for a legal purpose.

What we must keep, and why

As an approved continuing-education provider, we are required to retain records of continuing education (CE) program completions. This includes post-test attempts and scores, course evaluations, and issued CE certificates. This is for the period required by CE approval bodies (such as NBCC and APA) and applicable law, because licensing boards may audit or verify CE credit years later. We also retain purchase records required for tax and accounting compliance. These retained records are kept confidential, are removed from active marketing and platform use, and are deleted when the required retention period ends.

If you signed in with Facebook

You can also remove PsychMaven’s access from your Facebook account: in Facebook, go to Settings & Privacy → Settings → Apps and Websites, find the PsychMaven app (listed as “PsychMaven- Learner Outfitters”), and remove it. Removing the app stops any future data sharing from Facebook. To have the data we already received deleted, send the deletion request described above (removing the app on Facebook’s side does not by itself delete the copy we hold).

If you signed in with Google

You can revoke PsychMaven’s access at myaccount.google.com under Security → Your connections to third-party apps & services. As with Facebook, revoking access stops future sharing; send the deletion request above to delete the data we already hold.
